Running on Typo

If you’re actually reading my blog (versus some planet or an RSS feed), you’ve no doubt noticed my new look. I had a post about switching from blosxom to Typo. Somewhere in my upgrades I think I deleted that post. So, I just wanted to enter another post identifying my blog with Typo. According to Justin Palmer, typo 2.5 is almost ready. Lots of neat stuff. By the way, if you don’t know, typo is Ruby on Rails powered! <!- technorati tags start ->

Really digging the design Doug! Is blosxom widely used? I don’t believe we have an importer for it, but maybe we can use one.

Just fyi, I setup blosxom to dump like 5000 of it’s most recent entries in the RSS feed. Then I used the RSS importer for typo. I modified the importer just a tad. Blosxom treats directories as nested categories. So, I parsed out the path of the permalink to get the categories for each article. It wasn’t 100% perfect. The other thing I forgot to do was capture the old permalink url. It would have been handy to setup some routes in typo to redirect the old permalinks to their new permalinks.

    Very pretty, indeed!
